Melissa is a full-time senior at Utah Valley University and a part-time staff writer for Gabb. Using the skills and drive developed through her endeavor to become a secondary educator, she reviews and relates the current academic discussion on child development in a series of articles meant to support parents of all types in their parenting journey. As a soon-to-be high school English teacher, Melissa has become an advocate for both parents and their children. In doing so, she found herself spending her afternoons conducting research for Gabb. Melissa hopes to apply all that she learns to her future classroom, from child eating disorders to discipline styles. Using the platform provided, she also hopes to share these invaluable lessons with parents looking for guidance. Her articles are to promote an active and open discussion on child development within schools and between families, making the information an active part of child-based discussion.
